Barcelona has always been a city of strong visual identities. From its Gothic streets to its modernist architecture, every corner seems to tell a story through shapes, colours and light.
This spring, as MyRetroPoster opens its second gallery in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, artist Cha introduces a new series within the Spanish Capsule collection — a set of posters dedicated to some of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.
Barcelona Through Lines and Colour
For this new series, Cha focused on places that many visitors encounter while exploring the historic centre of the city. Instead of reproducing them in a photographic way, she translates their architecture into clean lines and bold colour palettes.
The result is a collection of posters that feel both contemporary and timeless — a graphic interpretation of Barcelona that captures its atmosphere without losing the character of its buildings.
The first posters in the series feature landmarks such as the Pont del Bisbe, Plaça Reial, Casa Batlló, Sagrada Família, the historic Arc de Triomf, and other architectural treasures that define the visual identity of the city.
A New Chapter in the Spanish Capsule Collection
The Spanish Capsule collection was created by Cha to explore everyday scenes, cultural references and architectural moments across Spain. Over time it has grown into one of MyRetroPoster’s most distinctive collections, blending playful illustration with strong graphic composition.
This Barcelona series continues that approach while placing a stronger focus on architecture and urban landscapes.
Each poster remains faithful to the philosophy of MyRetroPoster: a limited edition of 300 prints, produced with high quality giclée printing and designed to become lasting decorative pieces rather than mass-produced souvenirs.
From the Gothic Quarter to the World
These new posters are now presented in the MyRetroPoster gallery in Barcelona, located at Carrer del Call 22, just steps from the Cathedral, Plaça Sant Jaume and the iconic Pont del Bisbe.
Visitors to the gallery will often meet the artists behind the posters — Alecse and Cha — making it possible to discover the stories behind each design and occasionally have a poster signed in person.
Additional Barcelona designs will be introduced over the coming weeks as the series continues to grow.
Barcelona is a city that rewards curiosity. With this new series, Cha offers another way to bring a piece of that visual richness home.
