The Bear - El Oso Sitges Poster

Lotería-inspired vintage art print featuring a stylized brown bear

Step into the playful world of Lotería Sitgetana with this vintage-style art print titled "El Oso", imagined by Cha as part of her retro reinterpretation of classic Mexican lotería cards. Rendered in soft brown tones with a pastel blue background, this limited-edition poster (#32 in the series) features a stylized seated bear, whose rounded forms and calm expression evoke innocence and strength in equal measure. The halftone texture and grainy paper effect add a nostalgic finish, making it both minimalist and rich in character. This poster doesn’t reference a specific location, but rather a cultural icon filtered through a Sitges lens. It captures the warm humor and visual simplicity that made the original lotería game so memorable, reimagined through the poetic, feminine eye of Cha. Like the rest of the Lotería Sitgetana series, the artwork plays on archetypes and local quirks, transforming them into collectible visuals. It pairs beautifully with other animals from the same series or stands strong on its own, especially in children's rooms or eclectic art walls.

Fun Fact

Although “El Oso” (The Bear) is not traditionally part of the Mexican lotería deck, Cha has expanded the series to include a broader bestiary — with each animal symbolizing values like strength, grace or solitude. In Spanish culture, the bear is also a key emblem of Madrid.
