View of La Galerie by Myretroposter in Sitges with people lining up for waffles at the Gofras stand next door – the real-life inspiration behind the Sitges Waffles Poster by Cha. Limited edition food art print.

Sitges Waffles Poster: A Sweet Slice of Local Nostalgia

When you think of sun‑drenched afternoons in Catalonia, you might picture the sea breeze, the boardwalk, and something golden and crisp in your hand. That’s exactly the vision behind the Sitges Waffles Poster, a joyful celebration of one of Sitges’ sweetest traditions.Created by artist Cha for herSpanish Capsule™collection, this art print captures the simple delight of freshly made waffles, served since 1982 at the legendary Gofres de Sitges stand right next door to our gallery. With its warm ochre background, halftone textures and crisp illustration style, the piece evokes the feel of vintage snack ads from the 1960s, yet remains fresh and playful. Why this poster resonates Cultural flavour: Waffles trace their roots back to medieval Europe, where they were cooked between two hot metal plates and later evolved into the street‑food joy we know today. Local connection: The poster isn’t just about waffles, it’s about Sitges itself. The original waffle stand has been a seaside fixture for decades, and our showroom sits right beside it. Design aesthetic: Cha blends minimalist lines with nostalgic textures, halftone effects, and bold colour blocks that tell a story of sweetness, summer and seaside comfort. Home décor appeal: Whether you’re decorating a kitchen, a café wall or a beach house, this print adds a pop of personality and charm. It also pairs wonderfully with other food‑themed... … Read more

Alecse’s Top 6 Most Original Destinations Captured in Posters

With over 1300 designs and a passion for storytelling through imagery, Alecse has traveled the world in search of scenes that stir the soul. Among his global creations, some destinations hold a special place in his heart. Here are six of the most original, personal, and visually striking locations he’s chosen to immortalize in his signature vintage travel poster style.1. Okanda, Where Jungle, Rock and Ocean Meet (Sri Lanka)Okanda lies on the remote eastern coast of Sri Lanka, nestled between the ancient Kudumbigala sanctuary and the outer edge of Kumana National Park. A site of pilgrimage for centuries, this rugged landscape holds deep spiritual resonance for many Sri Lankans. Alecse spent years living not far from here, in Arugam Bay, and would often venture inland to explore the sacred temples, the wildlife corridors, and the dramatic rock formations that overlook the Indian Ocean. One of the most breathtaking vantage points is from the top of Kudumbigala’s main stupa, a place where nature and spirituality seem to merge into a single horizon. The Wave Hunter poster pays tribute to this unique environment. It captures the dynamic tension between land and sea, stone and spray, with a rich palette of mineral reds, aqua greens and misty whites. The surfer in the image, a tiny figure dwarfed by nature, is Alecse himself, drawn from... … Read more
