Alecse, the man behind the posters
Share
Alexandre Jardel-A aka Alecse was born in 1973 and is the youngest son of french artist Bernard Jardel whose composition paintings have been exhibited all around the world and who was called an "optical surrealist" by Victor Vasarely.
Alecse grew up in a large and cosy "hotel particulier" in Paris 16th district where his father had his studio and spent hours drawing, painting and taking pictures with an old Polaroid SX-70. He shortly attended graphic design classes at Atelier Met de Peninghen before he started his career as an advertising and events creative director in 1995.
Alecse has always loved history and geography, travel and photography.
He had 2 painting exhibitions in 1998 in New-York at the Gold Bar (East Village) where he used to live at the time and in 2000 in Paris at Galerie Got (6th). While never really giving up the artistic side, he started focusing more on his professional career as a business advisor and entrepreneur.
In 2013, Alecse moved to Sri Lanka where he is currently living with his wife and two sons, working as a consultant for the hospitality industry and surfing as often as he can.
In 2017, Alecse designed a collection of 32 postcards (and posters) for Upali Beach Surf Resort which has proven to be a success and led him to decide in 2018 to create Vintage Travel Posters for all the world's most amazing destinations and to commercialise them through MyRetroposter.
