When you step into Kyria, the new Greek restaurant on Purdy Street in Harrison, the first thing that greets you isn’t just the aroma of grilled octopus or fresh branzino — it’s the feeling of Greece. Soft light, white and tan tones, olive trees, and, hanging proudly on the walls, a series of Greek Travel Posters by Alecse.

Owner Granit Shala designed Kyria as a tribute to authenticity — a restaurant that honors Greek cuisine and the joy of gathering. The name itself, “Kyria,” means “lady” or “madam” in Greek — a word of respect. Everything in the space echoes that same sense of care and elegance, from the menu to the art that adorns its walls.
The Art of Coherence
When you serve Greek food with such devotion, it makes perfect sense to surround your guests with images of Greece itself. Kyria’s walls now showcase eight of Alecse’s most beloved Greek travel posters — each framed in gold and printed in the large 2XL format (60×90 cm). From Santorini’s panoramic blues to the quiet lanes of Paros and the sunlit rooftops of Anafiotika in Athens, every piece tells a story of light, sea, and serenity.

The selection spans the country like a visual odyssey: Rhodes’ Tsambika Beach with its golden sands, Serifos and its island calm, Corfu’s Kanoni Port reflecting in emerald waters, and Petros the Pelican — Mykonos’ most famous resident — watching over it all. Together, they form a gallery of Greek memories, as timeless as the recipes that inspired them.
Ready-to-Hang, Ready-to-Admire
For restaurateurs, time is precious — and so is presentation. Kyria opted for ready-to-hang framed posters from MyRetroposter, avoiding the hassle of sourcing frames or assembly. Delivered directly, perfectly mounted, and ready for the wall, the artworks became part of the restaurant’s identity within hours of arrival.
The chosen 2XL size gives each poster the presence it deserves. Large enough to create impact, yet elegant enough to complement Kyria’s refined atmosphere, they draw the eye without ever overwhelming the space — much like the restaurant’s cuisine itself.
Where Art and Cuisine Speak the Same Language
From the shimmering sea bass displayed on ice to the golden hues of Alecse’s prints, Kyria is a dialogue between taste and vision. It’s the kind of place where you linger over dessert and notice the halftone texture in a poster — or the curve of a Santorini dome — and realize that the entire space tells a single story: that of Greece, alive and present, here in New York.
For us at MyRetroposter, seeing our posters live in such spaces is the greatest reward — art becoming part of life, and design finding its home among good food and good people.
