We’re excited to share that one of Alecse’s posters, “Bears Week 2023,” has been featured in the summer exhibition book Paradis Naturistes by the MUCEM, Marseille’s National Museum. The poster appears on a full page alongside an article about masculinity and nudity in naturist culture.

The exhibition, “Paradis Naturistes,” is being held at the MUCEM, the National Museum of Marseille, and dives into the intriguing world of naturism and nudism. If you want to know more about this fascinating exhibition, check out Paradis Naturistes at MUCEM. Alecse’s poster is featured on a full page (page 203) to accompany the article “La Plage des ‘ours’: Masculinité, Nudité et Homosexualité” by Philippe Liotard and Thierry Pijulet. This piece explores masculinity, nudity, and homosexuality within naturist beaches.

Philippe Liotard is a sociologist specializing in body studies, sports, and gender. His work often explores the intersections of masculinity and sexuality, making him a perfect fit for this intriguing subject. Thierry Pijulet, on the other hand, is a respected photographer known for capturing the essence of naturist and nudist lifestyles through his lens. His photograph of Balmins Beach, which appears just before Alecse’s poster, beautifully complements the themes discussed in the article.

What makes this even more exciting is that Alecse’s “Cala Balmins” poster, with a few discreetly placed nude bodies, echoes Pijulet’s photograph beautifully. And don’t worry, it’s all very tastefully done and suitable for everyone to enjoy!

Now, naturism and nudism aren’t typical themes in Alecse’s work. In fact, they’re quite exceptional. But Alecse has always had a passion for the human body and its artistic representation, a passion he developed while studying nude sketches at the famous Académie Julian (Atelier Met de Penninghen). This unique background really shines through in his work.

Alecse’s “Bears Week 2023” poster is a colorful and lively depiction of Calle Parrellades, one of the main streets in Sitges. The iconic Cap de la Vila building is front and center, and in a playful twist, Alecse has replaced human figures with actual bears. It’s a fun and thought-provoking piece that captures the essence of the event and showcases Alecse’s creative flair.

If you’re as intrigued as we are, you can learn more about the exhibition book, directed by Bernard Andrieu and Amélie Lavin, with a preface by Pierre-Olivier Costa, the museum’s president, at Paradis Naturistes by Editions de La Martinière.
