This Custom Map Poster is a bespoke cartographic artwork created on demand by artist and designer Cha. Starting from a place of your choice — a city, a neighborhood, a region, or a specific area — Cha designs a refined map composition intended to become a timeless decorative piece.

The creative process is collaborative and flexible. You may suggest the location, the exact area or portion of the map, or let Cha propose several compositions. Each map is then developed through careful artistic choices, including colors, graphic balance, vintage-inspired finishes, typography, and optional titles or coordinates.

You may also request the addition of a symbol, landmark, or meaningful point on the map, subtly integrated into the composition.

While the geographical base or tracé may be reused or adapted for other projects, the final artistic interpretation — including its color palette, composition, symbols, and overall visual identity — is created specifically for your order.

What is the difference between a Personalized Poster and a Custom Poster?

Personalized posters adapt a defined existing design using the options shown on the product page. Custom Poster Creation is a separate commissioned design developed from your brief with Alecse. The scope, price and revision process therefore differ.

How is my Custom or Personalized Poster created?

Every Custom and Personalized Poster is created by one of our artists in close collaboration with you. There are no automated filters, machines or generative AI creating your artwork. It is a genuine creative process between an artist and their client.

Creation time is therefore separate from production time. Throughout the project, your artist will share the design with you and refine it based on your feedback. The time needed to complete your artwork depends partly on how quickly you respond and provide feedback at each stage.

Your poster is sent to production only once you have approved the final design. From that point, the usual production and shipping times apply.

What is included in the Commissioned Poster packages?

The standard Custom Poster Creation package includes an original commissioned design by Alecse, up to three rounds of creative refinement, and one Size S art print. Additional sizes, copies and framing can be ordered separately. The high resolution master file and reproduction rights are not included.

How many people can be included in a Custom Poster?

Yes, the personalized poster service is optimized for individual or small group portraits with a limit of 7 characters. For larger groups, we recommend our commissioned group poster service, ensuring meticulous attention and time from the artist for the best outcome.

How long does it take to complete the custom poster design process?

The creative timeline depends on the brief and the time needed for feedback and approval. Once your design is approved, an unframed print normally takes 1 to 3 business days to produce; a framed print normally takes 2 to 5 business days. Delivery time is additional.

Can I order extra copies of my commissioned or personalized posters?

Yes, extra copies can be purchased once you have validated the final
design. The initial offer includes one poster in size S, but additional copies are
available for order.

Do I receive the digital file of my custom poster?

No. Custom Poster Creation is commissioned artwork delivered as a physical art print. The high resolution master file and reproduction rights are not included and remain with the artist unless otherwise agreed in writing. If you need digital deliverables or commercial usage rights, contact us about a Professional Commission.

Who owns the rights to my custom poster?

Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, the artist retains copyright and reproduction rights in the commissioned artwork. The standard package provides the agreed physical print, not permission to reproduce or commercially exploit the design. Professional usage rights can be discussed separately.

How long does production take?

Unframed posters are normally produced in 1 to 3 business days. Framed posters normally take 2 to 5 business days before dispatch. Shipping time is additional, and these are estimates rather than guaranteed deadlines.

What if my package is damaged or lost?

If your order arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days with your order number and photos of the artwork and packaging. For a parcel that appears lost, contact us so we can investigate with the carrier. Verified damage or confirmed loss is handled under our Shipping Policy and Refund Policy, without limiting your statutory rights.
