Subur Poster Sitges

Vintage travel poster of Sitges featuring the iconic Hotel Subur – limited edition print by Cha

Capturing the modernist elegance of Sitges' beachfront, this vintage travel poster by Cha portrays the iconic façade of the Hotel Subur bathed in sunlight, standing proudly against a deep yellow sky. With its unmistakable blue sign and shadowy balconies, this beloved hotel has welcomed generations of sun-seekers and film festival goers.

The geometric composition brings a timeless architectural harmony, where the crisp white walls contrast with the warm ochre background and navy shutters. A single palm tree punctuates the scene, casting dancing shadows that evoke lazy summer days and sea breeze afternoons. The retro palette and precise lines give this piece a nostalgic charm, perfect for lovers of Mediterranean aesthetics.

About the location: Hotel Subur, Sitges

Located right on the Sitges promenade, Hotel Subur is more than a hotel — it's a local landmark. From its balconies, visitors enjoy breathtaking views of the sea and the vibrant life below. This building is emblematic of the relaxed glamour of Sitges, one of Catalonia’s most artistic and LGBTQ-friendly beach towns just outside Barcelona.

Art style and creative process

Cha’s signature vintage aesthetic is evident in this piece — bold colours, clean vector lines, and subtle halftone textures. The poster evokes the golden age of European travel advertising while offering a fresh, curated vision of contemporary Spain. Part of the Spanish Capsule™ collection, this piece was digitally illustrated with great attention to architectural detail and light composition.

Fun Fact

Hotel Subur has hosted writers, artists, and filmmakers since the 1910s, and is still one of the preferred hotels during the Sitges International Film Festival. Its sign has become an unexpected icon of the city’s skyline.
