Beijing Poster China Zun - Artful Travel™ Collection by Alecse

Beijing China Zun Travel Poster

Bring the modern skyline of Beijing to your walls with this vintage-inspired China Zun travel poster by Alecse. The artwork places the striking China Zun tower at the heart of a stylised Beijing cityscape, combining its distinctive silhouette with surrounding skyscrapers, blue sky and the bold typography of the original travel poster tradition.

Also known as CITIC Tower, China Zun is one of the defining landmarks of modern Beijing. Its unusual hourglass-like profile and immense height give the building a strong presence in the city skyline, making it a natural subject for a contemporary vintage travel poster.

Fun Facts About China Zun

  • China Zun is also known as CITIC Tower. The building stands in Beijing's Chaoyang District, at the heart of the city's central business district.
  • It rises to 527.7 metres. Completed in 2018, CITIC Tower is currently the tallest building in Beijing.
  • The shape has a traditional Chinese reference. The tower's curved profile was inspired by the ancient zun, a Chinese ritual vessel.
  • Its silhouette is deliberately wider at the base and top. The tower narrows through the middle, creating the distinctive form that makes China Zun instantly recognisable on the Beijing skyline.

Alecse's Vintage Poster Technique

Alecse combines photography, drawing and painting to create his distinctive travel poster style. For China Zun, the architectural subject is transformed into a graphic composition with softened textures, atmospheric colour and a deliberately aged print character.

The poster also uses a halftone render, a traditional printing technique in which patterns of dots of different sizes and spacing create the impression of tone and shading. This gives the artwork the textured appearance associated with classic travel posters and printed advertising.

Why Choose a Beijing China Zun Poster?

This Beijing travel poster brings together one of China's most recognisable modern skyscrapers and the visual language of classic travel art. China Zun's sculptural architecture, its connection to the ancient zun vessel and its place in the Chaoyang skyline make it an especially distinctive subject for a China wall art collection.

Whether you have travelled to Beijing, admire contemporary architecture, or simply want a vintage-inspired reminder of China's capital, this China Zun poster offers a graphic interpretation of one of the city's defining landmarks, with worldwide delivery available.

Alecse’s Vintage Style: blurs & grains

This vintage travel poster of Beijing Poster China Zun reflects Alecse’s distinctive artistic approach. Through his signature half-tone render, the artwork evokes the atmosphere of China with a timeless retro aesthetic.

Alecse's Original Travel Posters are celebrated for their unique half-tone render, a signature style that plays a crucial role in their appeal and authenticity. This distinctive digital effect is intentionally used to mimic the old poster printing process, where colors were rendered by the juxtaposition of dots of different sizes and colors. This method is a nod to vintage aesthetics, giving each poster a classic, retro look that aficionados of vintage travel and retro posters appreciate.

Half-Tone vs. Pixelization:

  • Half-Tone is an artistic technique used to create shading and texture effects in images. It involves the arrangement of dots of varying sizes and spacing to simulate different shades of color. This technique was traditionally used in the printing industry to reproduce photographs and illustrations with a limited color palette, contributing to a poster's vintage appearance.
  • Pixelization, on the other hand, refers to an effect seen in digital images when they are enlarged beyond their resolution. This results in the individual pixels becoming visible, making the image appear blocky or mosaic-like. Pixelization is often considered a flaw or limitation of digital images, unlike the half-tone effect, which is a deliberate artistic choice.

like all his posters, Beijing Poster China Zun by Alecse™ is printed in Fine Art 12 Giclées, ensuring high-quality reproductions that honor the original artistic intent. While these art prints are not meant to be crisp like photographs and intentionally include blurs and vintage effects, it's essential to distinguish these artistic choices from potential printing defects. A clear indication of a print's quality is the crispness of the signature and titles; if these elements are not sharp, it may indicate a printing issue.

For those interested in the intricate details of Alecse's work or wanting to appreciate the half-tone effect fully, we offer the option to receive a close-up picture in High Definition before placing an order. This allows customers to make informed decisions and ensures satisfaction with their purchase of vintage travel and retro posters, enhancing their collection with pieces that truly represent the artist's vision and the era's printing techniques.

Please contact us if you wish to receive a close-up picture of Beijing Poster China Zun in High Definition before placing your order.
