Sitges Film Festival 2026: A Town Transformed by Cinema

Every October, Sitges becomes a little more fantastic. As the 59th Sitges Film Festival begins, we celebrate one of our favourite times of the year with a new unofficial festival poster by Cha, created in her distinctive retro illustration style. Take a look at the festival atmosphere, our gallery window and the limited edition artwork available during this year’s event.

There is a moment every October when Sitges starts to feel a little different. The festival banners appear along the seafront, cinema lovers arrive from around the world, and our little Mediterranean town prepares for eleven days devoted to fantastic cinema.

Today, October 8, the 59th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia officially begins, running until October 18, 2026. For us, it is one of our favourite times of the year in Sitges.

We love seeing the town embrace its slightly darker, wonderfully imaginative side. The festival brings a very different energy to streets we know so well, and there is something rather lovely about seeing familiar places through the eyes of visitors who have come here for their shared passion for cinema.

A little poster tradition of our own

Almost every year, Charlotte, better known as Cha, creates her own illustration to celebrate the occasion. It has become a small artistic tradition, and one we look forward to just as much as the festival itself.

Her 2026 creation takes the form of a playful, stamp-inspired composition, with hand-drawn lettering, simplified Sitges landmarks and little graphic references to the world of fantastic cinema. Its expressive shapes and illustrated details draw on the visual language of mid-century modern graphic design, with a distinctly personal touch.

It is, of course, an unofficial festival poster, an independent artistic tribute rather than an artwork commissioned or endorsed by the festival. But over the years, these little creations have found an appreciative audience among festival visitors looking for something special to remember their time in Sitges.

A small edition for a special occasion

Like our other artworks, Cha's Sitges Film Festival 2026 poster is published in a limited edition of 300 prints across all sizes.

For the duration of the festival, we are giving visitors to our Sitges gallery priority access to the smaller formats. Only three copies each of sizes S, M and L are being made available online initially, with the remaining allocation reserved for our gallery visitors.

If copies remain after October 18, we may release additional availability online. But if you are in Sitges for the festival, we would certainly recommend stopping by to discover the poster in person.

See you in Sitges!

Whether you are here for the screenings, the atmosphere, or simply enjoying a few days by the Mediterranean, come and say hello. You will find us at La Galerie by MyRetroPoster, Carrer de Sant Pau 4, in the historic centre of Sitges.

And if you would like to discover more of the town through our eyes, you can also explore our Sitges Travel Poster Collection, featuring artworks by Alecse and Cha.

Happy festival, everyone. Enjoy the films, enjoy Sitges, and we hope to see you along the way!
